I can not establish an ODBC connection with my MYSQL database, but I can back it up in SQL format (and LaTeX). Any way to import this?
When I export as csv it truncates the huge memo fields.

There are a number of ways of doing this. Firstly, you need to have the MyODBC driver installed on your PC.
If you don't have it installed, download it from and install it.

Then, create an ODBC data source using it, pointing to your database on your server. If the MySQL account/password doesn't let you login, then its worth checking if there are IP address restrictions on that account using your preferred MySQL management tool, and if so, open it for the hostname or IP address of your workstation.

Thanks, but the REASON I can't connect is that the host (1and1.com) blocks outside ODBC connections. The only way I can connect is with a script hosted on their site or with PHPadmin.

I can back up and export to my computer.

As a last resort - I can install MySQL on my computer and duplicate the database there, I would just prefer to be able to import directly into Access.

One solution I tried was exporting in csv format, buth the problem I had was that large memo fields don't seem to be supported by csv.

Any creative solutions?
