import fields

My co worker has a fmp7 dtatbase and I want to copy one of his tables into mine...Is there a way to copy the field definitions and not the data??
If I copy the layout, I don't have the fields defined

in fm6 it was:
File-->Save a Copy as-->[ Save a Clone(no records)]

it copies all but the data...
