hi,

can someone tell me what the command is to export and import the running config please. It is for a 1950 i believe. Its the small fat-looking type of box. Thanks a bunch.

Not sure I've heard of or seen a Catalyst 1950 before so I'm not sure what the appropriate commands may be. If you have a fairly modem IOS switch (2950 etc), I think the command you're looking for is 'copy running tftp' to export a config or 'copy tftp running' to import a config.

However as I recall the old 1900's used to use a slightly command structure. I think you have to use something like 'copy nvram tftp' to export the startup config and 'copy tftp nvram' to import a startup config.

Hope this helps

the old 1924's were "copy nvram tftp://<ip address of tftpserver>\filename .
