Is there anyway to import the current DNS records from a sun system into a 2003 server with DNS. The sun is primary right now, but it is dying and needs to be rebooted a lot...so we want to move the records to server 2003. Is there a way?
We can make them a .csv file or text file.

Thanks for the help.

Hi!
There are two ways to do this:
1.Create a secondary zone on the W2k3 server and transfer tha data from the master - the SUN box. Then, convert the zone to primary.
2.Copy the DNS zone file from the SUN machine (you'll have to open the named.conf file on the SUN machine to see what is the name of the file for your DNS zone and where does it reside). When you create the DNS zone on the W2k3 server it gives you the option to use an existing file and you'll point it to the file copied from the SUN machine.
