How can i implement the hand mouse icon when the user mouse overs a label or textbox text, without it being a hyperlink?

Dear Wantabie

I got a sample DB and a hand shape icon. In the DB there is a function which chages the shape of mouse cursor to icon. I can send u the DB by email. Please give e ur email if u want to.

Cheers!

Hi!

Try this routine from The Access Web API: Displaying a custom Mouse icon. Just paste all of it into a new module, save it, and then in the mouse move event of the control(s) in question, call it with:

[tt]MouseCursor (32649)[/tt]

Note - for it to work on labels, you need to detach them from the controls theire attached to (cut/paste), else the labels don't have any events.

Thanks RoyVidar for your posting. I will try this and let you know.

Agif]/b] - One of the greatest strengths of these fora, is that information gets shared inside the threads for everyone's benefit. Sending "solutions" via email, defeats that purpose and is frowned upon.

Hi CajunCenturian,
You are true,
What if a person like me, know the answer and unable to explain well because of the language, and no time to write all the proceudres.. etc..etc..?
Many instances I am posting my Email ID and sending the sample whoever contacting me. So that all those are interested will be benefited..

I understand what you're saying ZmrAbdulla. But it's still better for the forums to keep everything in the forums. There are lots of people who are interested,
but won't give out their email address, even if it's only in the 'From:' of an outgoing email, for return purposes.

Language is tough issue, but we're all professionals, and we do the best we can with the skills we have. Maybe one person lacks sufficient command of English to explain a rather tricky section of code, but another forum member, might be willing and able to help out.

Good Luck

Also, CajunCenturion you are correct and i should have known better. I am new to the Forum(s) environment and i am learning as i go. I apologize of i have broken any rules or over stepped any boundries....

Many thanks to CajunCenturion & RoyVidar

Dear Fellow Members

You are right that it happens to me sometimes as well to find it bit frustrating that people have communicated directly and the members who are following the post left not being benefited.

I will try to place the sample database on one of my websites on Saturday 05 June 04. Is there a better way like put files in Tek-tips server?

Cheers!

Hi,
It may be wrong that you communicate directly.
As some one has written in these forums, those are replying with a good answer get nothing except a big thank you or a star. Remember! those are willing to reply is helping others. So I don't think communicating directly is bad.
And there are many posts that are getting good answers and the qustioner never turns back to the thread. This is something very bad.

It all would have been eliminated if Tek-Tips can set up a file section that everyone can access.
