Hi. I am in the process of migrating a novell/nt network to 2003 server. Before I implement AD, I want the new 2003 box to be running as an application server, so consequently, the novel client will allow me to log onto the novell network and simultaneosly allow the user to log on locally to the 2003 box to access file shares. I realize a local user account for each user will need to exist on the 2003 box for access. If things go smoothly with the server, I will then disable the novel server, uninstall the novell clients on the users computers, and promote the 2003 app server to a DC and run AD. Will all the local user accounts automatically import into AD and I merely need to copy them into their appropriate new containers? Thanks, I'm a new mcse and tek-tips member.

Sincerely,
Alex

Ok. Things were solved. Rolled out AD, installed GSNW, eliminated the novell client, and can still access the box. I guess a lot of theoretical worry for nothing. Thanks for looking.
