Dear All,

We are trying to setup IMAP4 on our Windows 2003 SBS (using exchange).

I have sucessfully started the server (via services & through the server managment console) with no problems.

However, i cannot get a response when testing the protocol through outlook express or our mobile phones.

The error i am getting through OE is

"Your inbox was not polled for its unread account, the connection the server has failed.", "0x800ccc0e", "port 143"

I found a help file on the web that tells me the error appears because "The incoming mail server was mistyped."

URL :
i am currently using the external IP address that we use to dial into via VPN connections for our IMAP4 server name, is this wrong? If so, what should i use, and how can i test it easily?

Once the OE test has been sucessful we would like to use th IMAP4 connection from our mobile phones (Sont Erikson K750i).

If anyone has done this, please can they email me and let me know if there was anything to watch out for.

Many thanks

Ian

I've sorted it now thanks.

The router firewall was blocking port 143, even after i configured the ISA server to let it through.

Cheers

Ian
