Hello Everyone,

I need to enable IMAP on my server, but I can’t start the IMAP or NNTP services from the Exchange System Manager. I keep getting an error that says: “The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. Check the Windows Event Viewer for details.”

When I check the event viewer, there are no messages that tell me anything about this error. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,
Chris

Did you check to see if the services were disabled?

OK, got it. They were disabled, but nobody I asked gave me the right service name. They all just said "IMAP and NNTP services! lol!!11!!" Well, turns out the services are actually called:
Microsoft Exchange IMAP4
Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP)
