Images in Quark print very dull

I've recently had some quark files printed at a print shop, all images/files printed out very dull. The illustrator files printed came out fine, no loss of saturation at all, so i know it wasnt because of the printer itself.
Can anyone help me out?

Are they saved in RGB mode? They usually print very dull and should always be resaved as CMYK.
