Anyone know of a way to resize images (using PHP) for thumbnails WITHOUT using the GD lib?

My ISP say they might install GD, but not sure when....I need to resize images now..usual eh?

Also if i need to use another language like perl that is no problem, but again i seem to be restricted to standard modules.

I have searched around but nothing that claims to make thumbnails seems to reduce the download times, which is the bit i need!

Thanks

JEz

I dont think so, but i have just asked to be sure.

Thanks for the tip though.

I'm afraid they dont.
I have had a look at the imageMagik site and it appears that there is an install aswell as a module...otherwise if there was just a module i could put it in the cgi-bin and use Perl to fix my pics......I'll put something in the Perl forum if i cant find anything on CPAN.

Thanks

:)

Oh OK, thanks.
I got the idea that it was only the likes of perl c++ java etc that could use imageMagik......shows how well i read the info on the ImageMagik site ;-)

anyway, it seems that there isn't a way to resize images on the fly without installing extra libraries or binaries outside of the cgi-bin (i.e in some location not accessible by me)

Thanks all the same.
