Image formats

Currently, I'm using .bmp files to save my screen captures.
These files are large.

What is a good image file to use that
* doesn't take up too much space
* of good quality
* minimal loading time

Any recommendations...? .jpg, .gif, .rle,....
 

Depends on the level of quality that these images should be saved in.

I often use jpg.
However, if you are going to change the size of the image, a bitmap may be best.
If speed if the only concern, then maybe a gif is sufficient.

You give up one property for the other: The better the quality, the bigger(and slower) the file is. [/b][/i][/u]*******************************************************
