Hi, I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone might be able to help me.

Here is my problem:
I am creating a poster (26" x 45.5") in Quark 4.11 with the background image (30" x 50") being designed in Photoshop 6.0.1. I saved the image as a tiff at 300 dpi and then imported it into my Quark document. The problem is that the image is coming in too small. It comes in being only 2.4" x 4" and 3750dpi. Any suggestions on what I should be doing differently?

Thanks for the help

Juls

This happens when you import a TIFF that's larger than 48" into QuarkXPress. If you crop your image down a little it should be ok.

Alternatively, in Photoshop, resize the image to 15"x25" at 600dpi (ie, the actual pixels stay the same, but the logical dimensions change), and import it into QuarkXPress at 200%. If you're printing to a PostScript printer, then this won't have any impact on the quality of your poster.

Of course, another workaround is to save your image in a different format, such as EPS.

Thank you blueark. I will try your suggestions as soon as I can.

Thanks again,

Juls
