Can anyone tell me what the programmer's button does on an iMac 400DVSE? I have read the other similar posts and everything I have tried has made it worse.
The programmer's button was pressed, not by me, at some point and I want to rule that out as a potential snafu.

Thanks,

Paul.

The programmer's button generates an interrupt that (on some models) starts an internal debugger. On other models, the interrupt is used when updating the firmware.

AFAIK, it doesn't do anything that cycling the power can't fix.

What are the symptoms of the no-boot? Any power indications at all? Have you tried booting in verbose mode? (OS X only...)

Changed the battery, reset the PMU ,updated the firmware and stopped using the front button which was faulty and all was well in the end.

Thanks.

Paul.
