"The RPC server is unavailable" is the error, when trying to connect to the citrix server from the network as a domain user.

The one thing I have been able to identify is that the problem is solved every time I do the following:

-stop Independent Management Architecture
-at the command prompt: dsmaint recreatelhc
-restart (reboot) citrix server

When I do this everything works fine, problem totally solved. BUT if (or when) I restart the server again it goes back to not allowing connections from the clients.

If I repeat the above steps the problem would go away one more time, just to wait until the next bootup.

Sugestions??? Comments ?????

PLZ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.........

(Im using MetaFrame XP on a 2003 Server)

No comments or suggestions ???? Please help, I have a whole system stopped over this issue, some of you may know what this means... please help!

Refer to the following documents to resolve the issue. The error usually
indicates a lack of connectivity between the computer reporting the error
and a domain controller for its domain.
It could be improper TCP/IP settings, bad cabling, faulty network card,
etc

Thank you.

Strange... all connectivity issues had been cleared... there's a flawless communication between the machines and the server....

Go to the Citrix forums/kbase at support.citrix.com. You might run into plenty of instances of users who have experienced a similar problem.

>>What version of Metaframe are you running?
MetaFrame XP on a 2003 server

Since we all kind of agreed that it may be a DNS problem I'm including this DNS log event that I'm getting:

"The DNS server list of restricted interfaces contains IP addresses that are not configured for use at the server computer.

Use the DNS manager server properties, interfaces dialog, to verify and reset the IP addresses the DNS server should listen on. For more information, see "To restrict a DNS server to listen only on selected addresses" in the online Help."

But I can't identify anything wrong on the DNS settings... suggestions?????

>>are you using DHCP or a static config?
