I'm trying to convert a date field that is text into a date/time field

I work for a davox dialer team ,the reporting aplication gives me date as "Tues October 4, 2002" I would like to change this to 10/04/2002.

Are you sure this is not just a format issue? in the design window, right click the field and select format object. If it is a date field, you will have a number of formatting options to choose from in terms of how you want your data to display. If it is truely a text field, your only options will be fint, size, bold, italic, etc. Software Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine
