hello,
I'm looking for good manuals tu create PRMs for SuSE 9.0.

I can build softwares from sources, but I'm looking for a good manual, a step by step one, wich explains how to create packages to admin a SuSE server (basic conventions, good practices...).

I wanted to buy the 9.0 Pro to have the manual, but I realy don't know what's in this books and if I'll find my answers as I already bought a personnal 7.0 in the past and the manual was only containing how to use Gimp and mozilla... very usefull :( Any of you have the pro 9.0 manual ?

Do you have any third party name of printed manuals or url of tutorials ?

Thanks,
Nicolas.

9.0 Pro comes with a 400 page User Guide and a 550 page Administration Guide. The Admin guide has a decent section on RPMs, with subjects like "Installing and Compiling Source Packages" and "Compiling RPM Packages with build". Not exactly a step-by-step tutorial, though.

Since RPMs are a Redhat thing, I'm guessing Redhat docs would be accurate. The SuSE guide also recommends "man build"...

Thank you very much !
I think I'll buy the 9.0 pro to have a real printed manual to read in my bed ;)
Do you know if it's possible to have a look in the content of this manuals somewhere ?
