I'm a VPN newbie...I need help.

I am not as computer savvy as I should be, but I was tasked with creating a VPN server at work so people could log onto the network from home. Well, I created the VPN connection on the server and everything seemed to be fine, but the clients are getting an "Error 800: Unable to establish the VPN connection. The VPN server may be unreachable, or security parameters may not be configured properly for this connection."

Can anybody help me with this? I'll try to answer any questions to the best of my knowledge.

You need to give us more information.

What type of VPN are you using?
What is your VPN device? Server? Firewall?
What ports have you opened?
How to the clients connect?
