illustrator cs into coreldraw 11

i keep getting the message "file is corrupt" when i try importing an Illustrator CS .ai file into CorelDraw 11. Also shows up when i export as an illustrator legacy file. the eps option is not editable and i need it to edit it in coreldraw. currently im using .svg format,but that doesnt remember all of my settings. Im wondering if Illustrator CS is not compatable w/CorelDraw 11? do i need to upgrade? is 12 better with ill. CS?

and download the Corel to Illustrator macro it uses the clipboard and can (I believe) transfer files both ways. This site has many useful macros for Draw, many are free and well worth a look for everybody.

I have to put illustrator graphics into Corel EVERYDAY. What you need to do is export the illustrator file as a legacy version 8 first. Then when you import that file into CorelDraw 11 you will have to ungroup it and then you can edit it.
