Hi,
I have a redundant server set up with some automated mirroring software on the primary server. I want to mirror the IIS site configurations to the redundant machine.
What files on the primary server would I select for mirroring??
Thanks!

Thanks but that's not what I want to do. I'm not running MS-clusters etc.
I have third party software that mirrors, byte for byte, any files I select on machine 1 to machine 2.

Machine 2 is an exact duplicate of machine 1 right down to the hardware. I mirrored the drive on machine 1 and am running machine 2 using that mirrored drive. It's a bootable duplicate of machine 1.

All I need to know is what files in IIS are actually used to store the site configurations. I'll then mirror those files realtime using the mirroring software so machine 2 stays up to date.

Do you know which files?

thanks!

Under Win2k - %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\inetsrv\MetaBase.bin

Under Win2k3 - %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\inetsrv\NetaBase.xml and mbschema.xml

These are only read on a restart of IIS so if you change them (by mirroring) you'll probably have to restart IIS.
