In ISS console - some of the directories have an icon like an open box, some of them are files and some are files with a globe on them.

What do these mean and how can they be changed.

Reason for asking is that I have created a site and i cant view it on any other machine on network (it has a folder icon) - there are other directories with 'open box' icon and i can view these fine...

I was trying to find out how this can be altered - i have tried matching all the properties etc. but have not resolved problem,

Thanks for any help,
Tony.

Hello!

icone is not important in IIS yopu can access your site with IP if you created a virtual directory for your site if it is a sub folder then you can access it with IP/foldername also check the default document in document Tag.

Hope this will help iis_guru@yahoo.com
