IIS not serving ASP pages

We have a COmpaq Server with Windows 2000 Server and Service Pack 4 running IIS. We installed SolarWinds Orion software and it uses IIS to serve it's web pages. The web pages are all ASP. When I point a browser to the server, the browser fails with "Server Application Error". I've removed Orion and tried just a basic IIS server and it still won't serve up ASP pages. It will serve up HTML pages, but not ASP.

Anyone have an idea of what may be happening here? Do you need more information?

Thanks

Hi DS

I think the problem may be that "write" is diabled on the web server.

Go to IIS and check the properties page for the default web, open the "Home Directory" tab and enable write.

I believe that should solve the problem.

Thank you for the help. The solution came from setting the "Application Security" of that IIS site to "Low" and it fixed it.

The server is in a Active Directory domain environment. Now everytime you connect, it is prompting us for our domain logon, yet these machines are in the domain also. It should pass that info through.
