I'm trying to switch our ftp service from "anonymous and only anonymous" to users / passwords but when anyone tries to connect they get the message "530 username cannot log in, home directory inaccessible." I've checked the permissions for the ftp users on the ftp root directory and the virtual directories and they're fine (read only for the root and read/write for the individual users's dirs).
Any thoughts?

WHat about authentication mode of IIS FTP service.

Please check if you are using "clear text" or something else

In the very beginning use not secure authentication to double check if service works.

CHeers,
Robert

Just to say it's now working - maybe I'm stupid but I didn't think I needed to allow local logons to the ftp server for ftp users (none of our domain users have rights to logon to the server which is also our WinNT domain controller and anyway doesn't have a screen, mouse or keyboard...). John
