IIS/domain manager error

On windows NT 4.0 running IIS 4.0,
I am receiving an error message stating...
Specified username already in use. Choose a username not already in use by a user or group.
The username may have been used in the past and is now deleted from any current domains. Is there anyway to solve this...
I just created this domain for a client and wish to keep this username.
