I am trying to host mulitple sites in IIS on one IP. I have IIS setup fine, I remember how to do that. Where I am having problems is when I want to view those sites locally. Is there a way to do that, or do I need to setup a local DNS server to point to the different sites? That is what I am thinking I have to do, and have tried it, but when I restart the server, the DNS service never starts...it fails during startup. I dont remember how to setup a DNS server from scratch. Any suggestions...

Thanks~

You don't need a DNS server to view the sites locally. Edit your hosts file (found by default in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts (Windows XP/2003) or C:\WINNT\System32\drivers\etc\hosts (Windows 2000/NT) and add an entry for each site (all would use the same IP).

For example, it would look like this:

192.168.0.1 192.168.0.1 192.168.0.1
