Ive been having this weird problem for the last few weeks that I just cannot figure out or find any information on. Im running windows 2k server with all the updates and IIS5. Every now and then when accessing and of my sites running on that machine I get a page canot be displayed message. I dont see anything strange in the logs, the IIS services is still running so I just restart IIS and its fine and the sites will run for a few more days until this happens. This is totally random. Any ideas?

Thanks

any idea on the best way to track something like this down? I looked through all the web log files around the time this happens and dont see anything there that would lead me to anything.

Hi, this really looks like ADO connections not closed.. I agree with ChrisHirst

Be sure that your connections are closed in any .asp or script file

Hope this helps. Please let know if this resolve your issue

Thanks for the advice...Ill have to start running through them. So that could happen and still show IIS as running in services?

It certainly can. If you check the memory usage for DLLHOST in the process list.

Try running some of the heavily scripted sites in Isolation (High Application Protection) (no more than 10 at once though) this will mean each one has a seperate instance of DLLHOST so should give you chance to find which one is the problem by a process of elimination.
