I have exhaused my resources, so I expect the answer is NO, but I'll ask anyway. I have a user who wants to write an IF statement in Excel that looks at the color of the text in a cell. Is it possible?

Hi,

The short answer is NO.

Thanks, Skip. That will definately be something I make a note of for the future, but for this particular user, anything beyond IF would become MY maintenance nightmare. So since I already told her no, I think I'll leave it there. Thanks again.

Thanks Zack. You've given me another really good answer that I may use in the future. But I need to avoid VBA for this user. Thanks again.
