iexplore excessive memory usage

My iexplore is currently using about 30K of memory. I think there is a leak somewhere as it has gone up as far as 80K. I restart it then as it can't load pages and bogs down a 1.6GHz processor. Version of IE is 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633. Any ideas?

Please follow the steps in FAQ faq608-4650
The possibility of a non-virus malware causing this is very high.
