IE5.5 starts minimised from URL in GW mail item

Likely to be a reg entry somwhere, but can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

Case:
Gw 5.5 - IE 5.5 - NT 4.0
GW mail includes an URL, click on the link and IE starts, but minimises. If IE is launched from the same link as a desktop shortcut, IE launches to window.

Any clues gratefully received
