Hi everyone...
I am running Win2K advanced Server on a very slow old machine. It all worked great until a few days ago, when I went to someones site that had (appearantly) been hacked !! Following a link landed me on a very bad site !!! Now, IE in this and several other programming sites in trashed!IE is so slow that it took me almost 10 mins to scroll the list of forums to find this one, so i could post this question. ( infact, in all the time i have been typing this, not a single letter has been displayed on the screen YET !!!)
I have ran a virus scan and did a sweep for "sniffer" programs. If I press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, my CPU useage is 100% and over half of the system RAM is used.
Please ... any ideas on how to repair this? Netscape seems fine
Michael

Spybot S&D...Then AdAware 6...Then repair IE if needed.

Tony ..
Searching for Spybot, Spybot*, Spybot S&D, also all possibilites of AdAware produces no reluts, repairing IE has seemed to help al ittle, but it still is not responding as it did last week.
any other thoughts?
Michael

Where did you search? Spybot and Adaware are free utilities available for download off the net. Just go to and run a search on these terms. Both utilities should clean your system well. Remember to reboot afterwards.

Also, it wouldnt hurt to delete all cookies, history and temporary internet files if you haven't done so already.

Ran both utilities, fixed IE, deleted cookies, history, etc. It is much better, but still not as good as it should be. Any other ideas/utilities available?
