Hi - this probably isn't like the rest of the questions in this section ... recently my browser (IE6) has started to refuse to load ASP pages. It just kicks me on to the 'File not found' page as soon as a request for an ASP page is made. It's really starting to get to me, because all of the services I subscribe to (email, online banking, etc,) use ASP pages, and I can't use any of them at the moment!!

If anyone knows of any settings which might have been tampered with, can you PLEASE let me know ... I really am just about losing it! _____________________________________________________

That's just not right! LOL

Actually i don't believe you can do that with IE. It does not know what an ASP page is. It just requests the resource from the web server and handles the response.

let me see
IE = M$ product
ASP = M$ framework

put the two together and you get a file not found [lol]
maybe try one at a time [rofl]

sorry, couldn't help myself _________________________________________________________

There are 2 things I can think of off he top of my head.
1) IE Settings
2) Firewall settings

In the first case if you set your IE settings back to default, then it will clear up. It's possible (though unlikely) that the browser has decided it can't handle .asp file types anymore. Check to see if anything you installed recently has decided it wanted to use the .asp extension. Again this is a long shot and I kind of doubt it.

The second case is that your firewall is filtering out .asp file extensions and therefore blocking any response that comes bvack, giving you nothing to look at but an error. This to seems unlikely because I would think you would get a connection error, not a page not found error.
