Lately my IE was acting shady, so I did a repair on the browser, hoping to fix "contact your administrator" dialog box when I click on internet options, the repair took place, although this dialog box still appears, I know you can access internet options through the control panel, but it is annoying sometimes. Does anyone know how to fix this dialog box from coming up? Would a uninstall/reinstall fix this or is there an easier way?

Make sure the Users icon in the Control Panel hasn't been configured...if so there may be a Policy Issue from the profile you're using. That's where it may be edited, too, if there is one.

Using TweakUI?
Maybe the fix is in there...(too many tweaks)

IF not, the best fix may be an overwrite of the OS, as they're delicately interwined...and errors in 1 may be caused by errors in the other.
Just act as if you're installing it fresh...last time I did it I don't remember it resetting anything important.
Just make a trip to AddRemovePrograms/Windows and note which modules you have loaded and make sure they're the same when you install.

thanks, also when I repaired the IE it wasn't working at all, then I went to internet options, and my default number (the one that I use) was not selected. Then I changed it back to the number I use, and it worked fine, although I was already online. is that just a coincidence? It probably just froze that first time and that's it ha!
