IE Java page problem

I am on a web site that has a search results page of documents. There are multiple pages. The first page loads quickly, I scroll down to the bottom and click on the next page button, the screen looks like it refreshed but its the same page. Now if I wait a few minutes then click on it again, I get to the second page. I have to wait the few minutes between going to the next or previous screen. When the screen loads it loads very quick and the IE progress showed done, I can view the information thats listed just have to wait a few minutes going between pages. I try this in Firefox and it works perfectly, but I can't use it on my computer. Any ideas what could be a problem with IE 6.0, this is not my website so I can't do any development changes, would just like to know if anyone has had similar problems
