Can anyone help me???
I have a local proxy server and an intranet site. If the proxy server crashes - the intranet goes off (even tho there on seperate servers/domains). I have now put a list of server names in the proxy exclusion list using the * wilcard option. The problem here is that most of the sites needed for the intranet begin with UK and I have put UK* in the exclusion list. This blocks out all uk.*.* websites on the internet like yahoo and trendmicro.
I have tried to enter ip subnets to the exclusion list but they get ignored by IE - only names (FQDN's or hostnames) are used. Name resolution works fine from the clients using a combination of DNS and WINS.
I've spent a couple of days searching through stuff on microsoft with no joy. I need to be able to enter the local subnet of all the intranet servers.
Does anyone have any ideas ????
or should I just expand the exclusion names to include all the webservers ??
Thanks in advance
