Is there a way I replace a dll file or something that repairs this problem?
The text field where one can type in what default page would be, is deactivated (grayed).
I tried AVG anti virus. I also tried the new anti virus from Microsoft. After hours of scanning, the problem is still there.

Thank you for this reply.
This web page gives a VB script to run so that the Disabled Task Manager (also a problem I have by the same intruder) is enabled again. However, Microsoft AntiSpyware intersepted this script.
Is there a way I can stop the Microsoft Anti Spyware temporarily OTHER THAN using the Task Manager (which is blocked at the moment)?

Have a little patience, I need to check this on my other PC.

Forgive me, but does MS AntiSpyware not prompt you whether or not you want something to run? Also, does it not have an 'allowed list'?

Carlsberg don't run I.T departments, but if they did they'd probably be more fun.

Tools > Options > Real-time protection options

try clearing the checkbox.

I wish.
But nevermind, I uninstalled it and run the script and now I have my Task Manager working again.
Still dealing with the disabled default page setting area.
One more problem. From the Start menu, I can't see the [Run] anymore.

Did you go through the entire procedure described on TrendMicro's page? The script is just the first step!

In the meantime I did follow the relevant parts.
Then I rebooted. Now all seem to work normal again.
Good has beaten Evil one more time :)
Somehow slow, but maybe a temporary matter.
I guess you made my day!!

Many thanks.

Kind regards

Eman
