I have a problem with a computer running XP Home, when you click on the print icon you get the following message:-

An Error Has Occurred In The Script On This Page

Line: 93
Char: 1
Error: Access Is Denied
Code: 0
URL: res://c:\windows\system32\shdoclc.dll/preview.dlg

Do you wish to continue using scripts......

The version Of IE is 6.0.2800.1106 xpsp1.020828-192015

I upgraded the system to SP1 hoping it might fix the problem but to no avail.

The IE is the one supplied by Tiscali and is reported by XP as a modified IE.

Thanks A Lot......(In advance)

You could check in Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced/ Browsing, and make sure the two boxes "Disable Script Debugging" is checked and "Display A Notification About Every Script Error" is unchecked.

Whether this will get you printing I don't know but it might produce further information as to what is happening.

Also have a look in your Event Viewer for any errors.

I've tried that but it made no difference.

Apparently it was ok but went wrong about 6 months ago, but the user cannot remember what was changed at the time.

Thankyou, Johnodq

This might help you.

6204 » Surfairy prevents printing in Internet Explorer on Windows XP SP1?

When you attempt to print or use the Print Preview, using Internet Explorer running on Windows XP with Service Pack 1 installed, your receive:

Internet Explorer Script Error An error has occurred in the script on this page.
Line: 93
Char: 1
Error: Access is denied.
Code: 0
URL: res://C:\WINDOWS\System32\shdoclc.dll/preview.dlg.

This error is the result of having Surfairy installed.

To remove Surfairy:

1. Start / Run / "c:\program files\surfairy\uninstall.exe" / OK.

2. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Alternately, you can use tip 6196 to disable third-party browser extensions.

Thanks a lot Linney, that sorted it out straight away.
