It's not a standard Microsft operating systemn file.
In Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options, click the Advanced tab and uncheck "enable third-party browser extensions". Shutdown and restart.
If that doesn't work, locate the ftapp.dll file on your hard drive, right-click on it, choose properties, click the version tab and post back with any info. You need to find out what it's related to.
Have you tried a repair of IE6? go to Start>Run, and type:
rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance
