what could be eating up the cpu?
how can one identify the cpu hog?

Simultaneously press Ctrl + Shift + Esc.

Click the Processes tab. Click the CPU heading twice to sort by CPU usage sorted highest to lowest.

I hope you find this post helpful.

thanks mark
i did that
i identified the cup heading that shows an item with 99
it's AOLtsmon
i tried to end process in taks manager, it says"access denied"

Search for that in the registry under the run key and delete. Then reboot.

I hope you find this post helpful.
