We are running numerous Access databases on a network serving approximately 400 users. At any given time, there are 2-5 users in a database simultaneously. Most of these Access databases link to SQL Server tables using ODBC.
Some users are getting a "reserved error -1104". They get this message sporadically, and not every user gets this message. Most times, if they exit the database and get back in there is no problem and no further messages.
The Network Administrator checks the network and file servers and there is no evidence of a network issue. We HAVE found that when one person gets the message another person in another building on another floor will often get it around the same time.
We have compacted and repaired databases regularly. We are monitoring SQL Server and Network activity and there is no consistency to indicate what is generating this message. Does anyone have any idea what this is and/or what solution there might be?
