Have you been playing around with the BIOS ?
There is NO reason in the world that a NEW and FULLY FUNCTIONAL mainboard like that won't recognize ANY hard drive that you install,,,,,,,,, that is 5 years old or newer.
The problem does not lie in the hard drive or CD-RW.
Did you hook the 2 drives together ? (Don't !)
Did you set the drives on the proper IDE channels ?
BIOS - should be left at DEFAULTS .... unless you know
Exactly what you are doing.
Hard drive should be set by itself on PRIMARY, and the PINS on the hard drive should be set correctly.
**** Did you check to make sure that you have the PINs set correctly?
SOLO - hard drive
Master Hard drive ......
>>> Check the HD manufacturers web-site for the PIN settings if they are not clearly marked on the HD, which they should be.
