I am replacing a bunch of analogue trunks with a DSS T1 line (PRI not available from CO at remote location, so this is the best we can get). They gave me a test number, and the vendor built a new route for the DSS T1. I built the test number on an existing phone and then went to test. When I call the test number, I get the switchboard/attendant. I went and checked the route and noticed it did not have IDC YES like my other routes. I added it, but nothing changed. Is there an attendant DN I'm missing somewhere in the route config that is causing this to happen? When I do an LUDN (before assigning the test number to a set), it shows up as an available extension in my PBX. I have two IDC tables at this site, and it is on a 7 digit dial plan. The first IDC table takes the leading 3 digits and converts them to my on-net leading 3 digits. The remaining 4 digits should match whats available on the PBX.

There is a second IDC table I don't fully understand. the IDGT (incoming digit?) is 3 numbers, and the CDGT (Convert digit?) is a 7 digit internal extension. This doesn't make any sense as the IDGT could never be dialed from the outside, and it matches the last 3 digits of the CDGT:

DCNO 2
IDGT CDGT
010 1238010
020 1238020
100 1238100
101 1238101
102 1238102

Is this maybe just not being used but a leftover from who knows when? It does not encompass all the DIDs in my range either...

Hard to say without knowing info only your carrier may know - what is being send and then to you where do you want it to go.

couple questions

is telco sending 7 digits?

you mention on-net - are you trying to send call off site creating a trunk to trunk connection?

Is route setup as DID oe Tie?

is operator a console and does intercept lamp light up?

Telco says they are sending 7 digits. No trunk to trunk calls, 7 digits is setup because this site is linked to several others. The leading 3 digits tell the pbx which site to route the call to. This is only used for internal dialing though, but each phone has a 7 digit extension to make them unique. All sets at a given site will have the same 3 leading digits in their internal extension. We use a SCC locally at each site to bypass these when dialing in-house locally and only have to enter the last 3 digits of any given DID extension.

If 7 digits from telco match ext on phone - no need for IDC.
