I am having time-outs reported from ActiveExperts software, network monitor which I have set up to monitor the gateway the pop and smtp servers. When the faults are showing timeouts I cannot ping by name or IP from the command line. The one I have problems with is the pop server, which causes errors in Outlook (saying it cannot contact the server). I am not sure if I should actually have the ISP put into DNS, can anyone advise what they do for their ISP's mail servers?
