ICMP question

Hello,
I have a Cisco 2514 router with IOS 12.2 and firewall set. If I was to block all inbound ICMP request would that keep my closed ports hidden if a port scanner was used?

1 program called &quot;nmap&quot; comes to mind while port scanning. If you use the switch: -P0 <---zero it will not send pings. I believe it will actually try and make connections to all services that reply.
