A user in our office runs an IBM Thinkpad A30 notebook with Windows 2000 Pro. Today he reported that he left the computer on battery and drained it down completely. Afterwards he could not power it up at all, even with AC. Plugging in the Ac with the battery displays the battery indicator but it does not power up. Taking out the battery gives the same result, without the battery indicator on, of course. I did not try using a different ac cord as I was concerned about a different ac cord damaging the unit. This is the first kind of problem like this that I have seen for this notebook. We only have the one A30 in our office so my experience with these is low.
