hi folks,
i might have seen this error message before, but i can't read the whole thing. it was something to the effect of "not less than or equal". this is when i shut down and the blue screen appears for 1 or 2 seconds then the pc restarts. any suggestions? it's draining my battery.
thanks.

Really to get you on the right track we need to see the full message that appears on you BSD. To do this right click my computer select properties/advanced/start up recovery/ and deselect the tick box that says Automatically restart. The next time it happens write down all the info givern on the BSD and repost :)

thanks m33sta
i tried that for future uses. i also went to f8 to back out to the "last known good configuration" and it solved the problem. it turned out that someone had tried to install a paralell floppy drive and had not finished it successfully, and had disabled it. i think next time, i will have a better chance of seeing the actual error message.
thanks again.
