Hello all. One of our clients has an old IBM PS/2 486 SLC2 that is receiving this error message during bootup: Diskette Drive Error 00601 . The full number returned after the memory check is 00060100, then the error message is displayed. Their system does require an Operating System Boot Disk which they have in the drive at all times. The floppy drive access light does come on during the boot, but I'm guessing perhaps the drive has gone bad and cannot read the media. Would replacing this floppy drive resolve this error or might it be referring some somthing else? Any help is greatly appreciated.
