hi,
how you can see, you BIOS level is OK: 11 is the top.
If you complete the wizard about typ-model in IBM support..,
you can see that model 4RY and 5RY differ by processor speed value:
5RY is a PIII 933MHz (256KB), while
4RY is a PIII 866MHz (256KB),
Both model came out from factory with a PC each; probably,
nextly someone has bought 1 additional processor for eaach box, not perfectely compatible with the original.
I suggest to do this (before throw them):
- before open machines, go at bios level F1, an in menu,
see processor points and verify informations about 2 processor for 2 machines.
- see in troubleshoot section of ibm site, articles regarding the position (socket1 or 2) of Processor of
differente speed:
or similar.
- detach machines from AS, and
Carefully verify the processor type (reading physically values on them).
- If the 2 Processor for each machine are equal (probaly
better than the first) put they together in one of the 2
macines (5RY ie), and try to continue adventure with
original Processors (PIII 933MHz, PIII 866MHz) on the 4RY:
verify in the articles, which processor goes in CPU1 and CPU2.
ciao
