I work in the IT department for a large company. Lately we are starting to have a problem with our IBM Net Vista's. They just keep rebooting. IBM says it's something in the modified version of Windows that we put on the Net Vista's. We run Windows 98, 2000, and now XP. It's doing it on all versions of Windows and only on the Net Vista's. To prove IBM wrong, I formatted a hard drive using the /s option and left it at the DOS prompt. Just sitting at the DOS prompt it still randomly reboots. IBM says no one else has reported any problems. I'm curious to see if anyone else is having this problem. Please let me know.

Thanks,
David

i've run into the same problem with 1 of 3 ibm net vista pc's. we purchased these 3 pc's from our billing system provider and they said it's a problem with the motherboard in these pc's and that it needs to be replaced. not sure if this helps but they also said the problem will continue to get worse if board is not replaced.

2nd reply to this msg...

i just talked to my billing system guys. seems there is an issue with the capaciter(sp?)and ibm IS aware of the problem. they want to replace the motherboard w/the same type, just w/new capacitor.

hope this helps.

Thanks A LOT!
It seems like after the Intel incident, companies would trying to be a little more up front when they start hearing about problems. People would be more appreciative of a company that might say something like; "They've had some reports of that problem and they are looking into the matter." Instead of something that sounds like; "No you're crazy."

Thanks again,
David
