Ok....I can't figure it out. I have a IBM 330 P-75 6576-35F computer here...and I can't figure out how to boot from the FDD. Is there a keystroke for it?? The computer does the seek on boot up....and it is a known good floppy drive and boot disk. But it still boots from the hard drive. In the CMOS I don't really have any options to get to any boot device. Just gives me the system info and such. Windows is crashing so I can't get in there to access the floppy. Also on boot...it won't let me do an F5 or F8 to bypass window. YIKES...HELP..Thanks in advance

I may be wrong in the case of your particular model, but alot of the IBM machines have a "service disk" that allows further entry into the BIOS settings, and in some cases it is the only way to access alot of the stuff you want to change.

Originally the machine may have had a tiny partition on the HD with a setup program that was run by pressing a certain key on POST, but it usually gets wiped by people, and you have to use the floppy. ( alot of Compaq's are like this too.)

Try this page:

the diagnostic file is there

It should be recognized as a service disk on boot, even if you cant normally "boot" from the floppy.

If memmory serves, you get a neat little program that runs automatically, all menu driven, and has more settings than you could ever need - including lists of I/O addresses to allocate, resource allocation by IRQ, I/O range , etc etc.

When you exit, it updates the cmos and you are set to go.

Hopefully this helps
