I have a brand new S8300/G450 we installed. We set up the IA770 voice mail. When you dial an extension off the auto attendant, and the person picks up, the call breaks up. There's a silence immediatly on answer and then another break up in voice 5 seconds into call.

This sounds to me like some sort of transfer supervision issue with the voice mail. This only happens when a call is transfered from voice mail. And only happens in the beginning of the call.

Anyone have any thoughts? Anyone seen this?

Thanks,

what kind of VoIP modules are in your G450? If you have "MP20" VoIP modules, there are KNOWN issues, with no current fix for this. If you have an MP80 VoIP module, by upgrading to g450_sw_28_18_0.bin, your VoIP firmware will get updated to FW013, and that will solve the VoIP issues for you. If you have MP20's, you will need to open a case with AVAYA, and they will have to deal with it, they will have to get approval from the G450 product manager to swap out your MP20's for an MP80, that's their only currebt solution.

This is a WIDESPREAD problem, that AVAYA is not admiting to, and is being very silent on. However, as soon as you tell them you have dropped calls/disconnected voicemail messgaes, they will know what the issue is, at least they should.

Are we talking about the same issue? When you call in and dial an extension from the auto attendant there is a silence that cuts out the voice and then again, and it's fine afterwards.

*** When I go under "Change Media Gateway 1" I have the MP80, FW 9 V 2.

Where do I get that patch? I only see the read me on support.avaya.com. (We're new business partner. Still don't know where everything is)

Thanks,

you need to get an AVAYA "SSO" login, and use the AVAYA download center. Also, you will have to pre-register and final register that system, in order to be able to download CM5 patches, etc.

The G450 firmware is on the AVAYA download site, this new version I am talking about was only on the CM 5.1.1 CD, that I have seen so far, it should be released any day on the support site. And yes, we are talking about VoIP dropped calls, audio breakup and other VoIP issues.

Update your MP80 to FW13, which will happen when you upgrade your G450 to: g450_sw_28_18_0.bin
