Hi,
I have a query about i8402prt and would be grateful for any help that you might have on this.
What happened was that our server mysteriously rebooted itself. We were convinced that somebody accidentally tripped over the power cable or in a moment of confusion rebooted the wrong machine but that seems less and less likely.
We looked at the event viewer on NT and we found a lot of i8402prt errors which have gone away since the reboot.
We're told that one possibility is that these errors became too frequent making the server "blue screen" and then rebooted itself.
The error descriptions in the event viewer for these i8402prt errors are as follows:
Event 15 - The keyboard reset failed
Event 19 - Could not set the keyboard typematic rate and delay
Event 20 - Could not set the keyboard indicator light
Event 26 - Exceeded the allowable number of retries (configurable via the registry) on \device\keyboardport0
Well, they seem to be keyboard related and since rebooting thay have gone away but I was wondering if anyone had seen that kind of thing before....
Thanks,
Tom
